The Ralph Loop

The Ralph Loop runs an AI coding agent in a cycle instead of a single conversation. It reads a task list, picks the next item, builds it, commits the change, ticks the item off, and goes back to the top. It keeps going until the list is empty. Every step lands in its own commit, so you can read what changed and when.

The loop runs in an isolated workspace, which keeps a bad step off your working tree. Tasks come from wherever you keep them: a file, an issue tracker, email. It suits the work that has a clear finish line and no interesting decisions in it, such as writing tests, fixing lint, updating docs, and migrating an API across a codebase. You still decide what gets built and whether the result is right.
